(…) His visual language could be characterized as “neo-romantic”, in the sense that this “Other” occupies in a gestural way asymmetrically the entire area of its surfaces and on a very small scale, cleverly placed, records a micro-episode which intensifies its subject sometimes towards ecstasy, sometimes towards the paradox of temptation, making it through this scale real, but perhaps insignificant in relation to the central event, of the “ecstatically formulated” background or plain. Haris Kontosfyris was born in Mytilene, Lesvos in 1965. He studied directing at the Hatzikou School in Athens (1984-1987), while in 1993 he completed his studies at ASKT, Athens. In 2007 he became a lecturer at the Department of Plastic Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina. Since 2010 he has been an assistant professor at the School of Fine Arts of the University. Western Macedonia (Florina).
